My other favourite little person to draw is this handsome chap, my awesome nephew. Such a caring and affectionate fella, he's an absolute joy to be around. A natural performer, he's a great little model and shows so much patience and maturity for one so young.

After several weeks I've finally finished this drawing of him and I adore it, I feel like I've incorporated and achieved so much in this one: Strong lighting creating dynamism, texture and interest by having used a palette knife to paint the first layer of acrylic, and a real sense of movement, like he could come out of the wood and talk to you...while at the same time it looks like a piece of art and not a photo - a great balance between realism and mark-making.
