We are a long established group of painters of varying levels of experience working in all kinds of media. Professional artists are invited to lead sessions on Saturdays. These tutorials take place in the Bell Room of Hathersage Parish Church, and members have choices about which sessions to attend. We pay an annual membership fee and then a fee for each session we attend. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and new members are very welcome, whether beginners or lifelong artists. We hold at least an exhibition in Hathersage each year and all members are welcome to participate in this.
This year our exhibition will be over the Bank Holiday weekend May 27th, 28th and 29th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, in the Methodist Hall, Main Road, Hathersage, S32 1BB
Hathersage Painters is a friendly group of artists from the villages in the Hope Valley and as far afield as Sheffield and Chesterfield. We have a wide range of backgrounds from beginner to lifelong painter and the group was originally formed over twenty years ago, with some founder members still going strong.
Our Secretary arranges for professional artists to give tutorials on Saturdays in the Bell Room of Hathersage Parish Church. Some tutors work in watercolour, some concentrate on drawing and some are happy for us to use the medium of our choice, so a session may find some members working in acrylics, some in oils, some in pastels and some in watercolour. Some sessions are for the morning and others last all day. Tutorials are usually fortnightly during term time.
We hold at least one exhibition every year in Hathersage.
Members pay an annual membership fee, currently £20, and then pay a fee for each session that they choose to attend. This fee varies according to the length and nature of the session.
New members are very welcome. If you may be interested please fill in the contact form or contact our secretary Audrey Hague on 01433 621266 for more information.
