The Southend Art Club was established in 1929 as The Southend Art Circle with the aim To promote the appreciation and practice of art in the area. It reformed after WW2 as The Southend Sketch Club and assumed its current name in 1969.
Today membership exceeds 250 and every year exhibitions of work are held in the town. Several members also successfully exhibit at national level and are prominent in Art World circles.
We hold workshops and demonstrations by professional artists on Saturdays at roughly fortnightly intervals throughout the year. Outings to places of interest are also arranged from time to time.
