Swallowfield Art Group

Swallowfield Art Group

Swallowfield Art Group has been running since 2001, and currently meets in Swallowfield Parish Hall. We run a tutored group with up to 20 members and have a small group who do their own thing in an adjacent part of the Hall. We meet on Mondays from 2-4pm. Our current tutor is Jonathan Newey.

Swallowfield Art Group was formed in 2001, inspired by an art demonstration at the W.I.   It has run continuously since then in a variety of local venues.  We are open to artists of all abilities, and work in a variety of media, aiming to provide something for everyone.  We occasional run workshops with guest tutors.  We do not adhere rigidly to term times, running on into the summer months to prepare for our Annual Exhibition.

Our annual opportunity to show our work is in an exhibition in marquee as part of a rural Horticultural Showshow - we also enjoy an element of competion by entering the Art categories at the show.

We meet in Swallowfield Parish Hall from 2-4pm on Mondays.  Our tutor is Jonathan Newey; we aim to have a variety of topics and media each term so that there is something to suit everyone; there is also the opportunity to meet untutored.
