Barbara Swindin

After a long career as a Modern Linguist and College Lecturer, with mountaineering in the UK and the European Alps consuming most of my spare time, I studied Art at Stroud College in Gloucestershire, gaining the Access to Art & Design Certificate in 2004. I am a member of the Gloucestershire Society of Artists and the Cotswold Art Club. Recent work can be seen at the Painswick Centre Studios in Gloucestershire. See www.artinpainswick.co.uk.

My autobiography, All But One - One Woman's Quest to Climb the 52 Highest Mountains in the Alps, is available at the Painswick Centre Studios, as well as from the Alpine Club, London, many bookshops and outdoor gear shops, as well as from Amazon. The book is illustrated with many quality photographs as well as a number of my own pen and ink drawings.
