Through feeling, colour and emotion, I love to capture the spirit, vibrancy and atmosphere of  nature. Oil is currently my favourite medium for painting, having experimented in various other mediums, including watercolour, pastel, acrylic and mixed media, over the last 30yrs.
My passion for art is partly inspired from being immersed in the mountainous and natural landscape. From an early age I’ve had a great affinity with the outdoor environment: walking; mountaineering; camping; mountain biking and climbing and as a qualified International Mountain Leader, I have guided treks to remote areas such as the Himalaya. Following a serious ice climbing accident, with subsequent redundancy, it was my time in life to branch out and develop my hobby and passion for art into a more public realm.
In 2005, I became a qualified oil painting instructor, teaching others and helping them unleash their creative talents. My portfolio also includes training as a portrait painter in Holland.
Personally, if a painting appeals to another and brings an inner feeling, which ‘speaks’ to their spirit, then that brings joy to my soul.
