Deborah Dyer

Leeds, West Yorkshire

I originally started painting in watercolour over 30 years ago and was elected a Member of the British Watercolour Society in 2003. I now paint landscapes and woodland scenes using soft pastels.  I love the vibrancy of the colours and the textures that can be created using this medium.  During my walks on the moors and fells in the Dales and the Lake District I use my sketchbook and camera to capture the effects created by the light in the landscape.  I love the shafts of light on the landscape when the sun suddenly appears from behind a cloud and spotlights of light appear on the fells and amongst the trees in the  woods.
