Jenny Angold was born in Berkshire in 1945 and although she has always had an interest in drawing, she didn't start painting seriously until 1989. She trained at Amersham College and West Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham. Her work is mainly concerned with the exploration of colour and light - both figurative and abstract - using it to convey moods, trying to capture the spiritual essence of the subject. In the mixed media work, her paintings lie on the boundary between representation and abstraction. They depict an intuitive response to the interplay of subject, materials and colour. They are inspired by the beauty of the natural landscape, its atmosphere, light, colour and textures.
She is now living and working in Canada.
