Bonfire Night

Thanks to Alison Board's suggestion I decided to experiment using watercolours and pastels together. Using light grey pastelmat paper I laid down some black for the sky and for the people in the fore ground. Once it was really dry I used soft pastels and pastel pencils to add the smoke and the bright fireworks themselves. I'll definitely try this mix (and others) again.
