Picture Title: Dewdrops on Lady's Mantle
Please find attached my first entry to 'Member's Gallery'. I started painting 3 years ago as a complete novice and joined the SAA about a year later.
This painting was inspired by the article in 'Paint' dated May 2014, titled 'Painting a dewdrop'. I couldn't believe the drawing was not a photograph, as the dew drop appeared to be so real, so I followed the instructions and was extremely please with the result.
When hanging washing on the line in the early summer mornings, I had often wondered at the beauty of the dewdrops on the leaves of the Lady's Mantle, and thought how pretty they were.
After the above trial, I just couldn't wait to paint them, hence my entry.
Hoping you will judge my painting good enough for the Member's Gallery.
