Grandpa was a pack rat

There was so much detail and strange objects in the photo that I decided to try and avoid fiddling with it too much. I started with wet on wet splashes of colour, added the ink outlines, then more watercolour to add shading and depth. thankfully our junk room doesn't have oily canisters, heavy machinery/tools or dirty rags, but it does contain our Christmas tree and wine rack, etc., so I added those in the background. I had great fun keeping it loose (hard for me)and painting this unusual subject on a rainy afternoon. Thanks for this challenge Ann Hirst
