I painted this abstraction of the human body with the intention of connecting emotionally with the soul. it's a holistic painting technically. I use blending and layering techniques that allow the surface of the canvas to develop beyond the two dimensions giving it an inward depth. I work into the surface of the oils by brushing incredibly lightly to give the oils a polished surface whilst removing any hint of brush strokes. This allows me to add deliacte differences between layers and also create subtle pulled paint that adds an element of movement within the painting. The organic imagery within the painting hints at blood cells and internal structures underneath the skin, 'Inner Space'. The same imagery also aludes to the clouds of gas and faint planetry objects in 'Outer Space' that's why it is called In out as it is up to the Viewer to decide. The colours used in this painting go on in their pure form and only mix or slide over one an other unpon the canvas itself. I painted this piece using special colour frequency vibrations to gain the best use of colour balance mathmatically 3 pages of maths for a painting!. It is my deliberate intention to activate the Chakra's (coloured energy centres on the body relating to health and wellbeing and spiritual connection in Asian cultures )relevant to the piece I create to promote healing through meditation and proximity to the painting.I paint this way as a result of three years of university where abstraction was not enough. Each piece seemed devoid of Soul so I looked to the body and the the heavenly bodies and found the similarities. these types of paintings are my most popular as people want to spend time looking into them as each visit brings new imagery previously unnoticed. I love what I do. I especially love creating spatail dimenstions within the surface of the work. a landscape of the mind.
