Landscape Moods 40 - Study 1

This is the first of three study paintings created en plein air for the final larger canvas ?Landscape Moods 40?. This piece explores the tones, techniques that could be used in the main painting. This painting explores the concept of vintage and age. Influenced by sepia photographs and vintage card making techniques, I have used a muted palette and distressed and smudged the edges with specialist ink and pigments in the tea-bag and black tones. Mediums that are used include: acrylic paint (gloss and matt effects), sand, glass beads, ink texturing/stamping, candles, salt, cont? pastels, gemstone granules, mica powder and sponge painting techniques.
