Landscape Moods 41: Rising Fire

Landscape Moods 41: Rising Fire features a rising sun illuminates the twisted tree, giving the feeing of the landscape consumed by a rising fire from the hint of a hot summer sun. Mediums that are used include: acrylic paint (gloss and matt effects), sand, gemstone granules: Carnelian, Pink Tourmaline Rhodochrosite and Labradorite, mica powder and gilding flakes. I have been fascinated by the how changes of the seasons change trees in the UK, specifically the British oak trees. I have explored the textures, direction of the bark and how this tree looks like a gothic and sleepy hollow looking tree; however, it reflects the light of the time of the year, in this case, the rising fire of the hint of spring.
