My favourite part of the day

Tony Compton

This lady is having a well earned rest after going about her daily chores. Nothing pleases her more than to look forward to that part of the day where she can sit down and focus on her knitting. There is some history about the old house she dwells, it was built in 1797 in Shropshire and is called the Squatters cottage that still stands, hence this painting from my photo taken. It has only one bedroom and one pantry and was around that year lived in by a family of nine, seven were children and had to adapt to the very cramped cottage, any food or cothing they had was funded from the father who would spend long hours down the mines etc.
