Teresa Currie

This is a negative layer painting completed for a workshop that I developed exploring the same process. I have used cerulean blue, lemon yellow and Prussian blue.
This initial layer is a loose wash of lemon yellow. Each successive layer builds up the depth of the colours. In this process you are reversing the concept of aerial perspective., Instead of subjects becoming lighter the further away in the picture space they become darker in tone and depth. The reference photo was my own from one of my frequent trips to the Isle of Portland.
