Steve

I met Steve in a little pub in the Yorkshire Dales and thought he had the most wonderful features, with his full beard and his cap worn back to front. I was also fascinated by the light coming from a window behind him as well as from the glow of the fire in front and I eventually plucked up the courage to ask him if I could take his photograph and do a few sketches. He very kindly agreed and, after doing an initial pencil drawing, I then worked it in pastels. Steve, who was a complete stranger to me has now become a good friend. His beard is now also a great deal longer!
