Iris Howitt

Many years ago, my eldest granddaughter brought me a tiny sunflower plant in a very small pot and asked me to take care of it and see how tall it would grow.
It was placed in a position for good sunshine, not too far from the house and each time she visited, we would measure it against her.
When the seeds came out, the birds came too, and it was a terrific source of interest.
I had to preserve this memory for ever.
