The Royal Llangollen

This one was something of a personal crusade! Me old dad, bless him, loved to paint - it's probably thinking about watching him doing one when I was a kid that started me thinking about painting myself. Like me (or should that be me like him) he only did landscapes, and tended to copy postcards etc for his subjects. One of the last he did, which I still have 30 odd years later was of the Royal Hotel in Llangollen. When we were there this year, I had to find the spot as near to it as I could and get a photo to make my own attempt at it.
By the way, for anyone visiting the area with the means, try getting to Llangollen down the canal, you won't be disappointed!
