Watercolour painted for a local exhibition run by the ‘Friends of the Ridgeway’ at Uffington. For obvious reasons the exhibition has been postponed, so it could well be up for sale later in the year.
For those not familiar with the Ridgeway, Waylands Smithy is a long barrow on the Ridgeway near Uffington white horse. The legend says that it was once inhabited by a master blacksmith called Wayland, and it goes on to say that even now, if you leave your horse at the barrow for a while, you will find it shod with new shoes on your return.
Framed with 15mm blue grey moulding and non reflective glass. Size stated includes the frame.
