Topiary Garden at Edzel Castle

Iris Howitt

Contemporary art depicting Edzel Castle and gardens, where the topiary hedges are laid out in geometric shapes which reflect the shapes in the castle tower house and the Lindsay motto Dum Spiro Spero (while I breathe I hope).
The blue and white flowers are in the niches of the walls and represent the colours in the Lindsay Arms and the heavy hinged door with it's metal studs bring outdoors and indoors together.
