Water Crowfoot on the River Wye

Margaret Ellis

I painted this picture of Sheepwash Bridge at Ashford-in-the-Water on one of my Peak District Painting holidays in June. The river was covered in drifts of the tiny white flowers of a water weed called "Water Crowfoot". I decided to make it a feature of the painting. I depicted the flowers by scratching them out with the point of a craft knife.
