Emer Beattie has provided this issue’s photo for our Artist’s Photo, You Paint It challenge.
“The subject matter for all of my work comes either from my garden or the farm around us. We are lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the world and the tree-lined avenue that leads to the farm includes a mixture including ash, beech, horse chestnut, oak and sycamore. The variety and depth of colour are always a joy (and a challenge!) to paint.”
Why don’t you have a go at drawing or painting her photo yourself?
You can find Emer’s step-by-step of how she would paint this picture in watercolour on Page 34 of the Autumn 24 edition of Paint & Create.
You don’t have to paint it as Emer would though, you can use any medium you wish and share your creations with us for a chance for it to be published in the Winter issue. Upload your finished creations by 1st December.
Simply click on ‘Enter Challenge’ at the top of this page and follow the instructions from there.
Entries must be your own work. If you have used another artists’ painting, tuition or photograph as your inspiration, please ensure you have gained the appropriate authorisation to publish the image and be sure to credit them accordingly – for example ‘after a painting by…’ or ‘from a photograph of…’
