Linda Matthews was born in Leicestershire England, and after careers in Medical Science and the Metropolitan Police she has made her living as an Artist Painter for over twenty years.
Professionally originally based in Norfolk having her studio there for seventeen years she now lives in Languedoc “the real south of France”. Twenty miles from the Mediterranean Sea and twelve miles north of the city of Beziers, just before the land rises to the Massif Central Mountains
A plein air (outdoor) painter mainly in oils, Linda’s exhibition will include pieces from a visit to Cornwall in October 2018 and from around her home in a village of nine wineries. There may also be work from a Caribbean trip she is making at the end of February.
The award-winning artist was one of ninety artists selected to paint at Windsor Castle for the Her Majesty the Queen' ninetieth birthday her painting “Cornets and Bayonets” was awarded second prize, in France she had been awarded a first prize and second prize.
