Complete Beginners Watercolour Workshop

Held by Denise Schoenberg

A creative and relaxing comprehensive workshop exploring the basic techniques of pure watercolour. No previous experience necessary, beginners and those wanting to refresh their techniques are welcome. All materials provided! We start the day with a brief introduction to materials with samples, practice paper and paint guides provided. I will demonstrate washes, layering, and explain transparency and opacity through small projects. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to practice the washes and techniques. You will be able to practice theses and use them in a finished painting. Includes beginners starter pack of handouts to take home with projects to guide you covering the aspects of materials, tone, layering, washes and opacity covered in the workshop. You are welcome to arrive from 9.45am for tea and coffee. Demonstrations will start at 10am and we finish at 4pm. Please bring your own lunch. I will provide tea, coffee and cake. The course will be held at St John’s Church, Hills Road, Cambridge which has free parking at the rear of the Church and is a 15min walk from the railway station. In previous years this has been a very successful workshop, if you would like to read a testimonial from the beginners workshop you can find this under the workshop tab on the main menu. The testimonial is from Jane Frances. I hope it gives you a good flavour of the what to expect!
