Are you fed up painting the same old wishy-washy watercolours on tiny little pieces of paper?
How about something a little more exciting!
My demonstrations & workshops are all about big pieces of paper (full imperial minimum), big brushes & lots of paint with the emphasis on loosening up and learning that it is far more important to produce a painting that is true to yourself than it is to follow the self-inflicted rules that a lot of watercolour artists unnecessarily impose on themselves.
As a creative person how you get to your finished painting should be completely up to you. So, if you want to add a little pastel or acrylic here and there, scrape out your tree trunks with a razor blade or even god forbid use a bit of Chinese white to add a highlight then that should be completely acceptable (even Turner himself used to use a bit of white now and again)and thankfully some of the stuffier watercolour societies have now started to revise their way of thinking and have started to be more inclusive of those pushing the boundaries.
My tuition demonstrates both the traditional aspects of watercolour painting but also shows the infinite range of possibilities that can open up simply by introducing a number of creative techniques to the mix that will help give your work that extra zing.
I like to make each session fun & entertaining and I am more than happy to pass on tips on particular techniques as well as constructive advice to those who request it.
If you feel that your club may benefit from a demonstration or workshop please contact me either through the S.A.A or by email to: [email protected] and I will be happy to provide you with more details.
I am based in Cumbria but am happy to travel anywhere in the country. I charge a very reasonable fee + mileage as I believe it is important that as many clubs as possible should be able to provide their members with professional tuition. Many of the smaller clubs I have provided demonstrations and workshops for have been very happy to provide their members with a professional demonstration/workshop without having to break the bank for a change. So you may be surprised just how affordable it can be – get in touch for more information & a price today.
The only restrictions to your creativity are the ones that you impose yourself!
