Held by Joanne Watson
Classes meet on a weekly basis at various local venues. The emphasis is on relaxation and the enjoyment of getting together with like-minded people. Develop your creative skills at your own pace under the guidance of a professional and experienced tutor. All classes have a friendly atmosphere and are suitable for the complete beginner as well as the more advanced.
I cover the basics of learning to draw as well as a variety of techniques for watercolour, acrylics, pastels and mixed media. Topics can range from landscapes and flowers to portraits and buildings, the list is endless…
Work produced is often exciting and innovative with members inspiring each other to try new techniques and materials, surprising themselves with the outcome of their newly acquired skills.
As well as the ‘taught’ classes I organise trips to exhibitions and art festivals across the country where you can take part in workshops, get materials at discounted prices or just enjoy the work of the other artists. I also organise an annual summer exhibition for you to celebrate your achievements as a collective body of artists.
In addition to the ten week classes I run ‘one-day’ workshops to focus in more depth on a particular skill or topic. These normally consist of a demonstration followed by practical hands-on experience with the support of friendly, individual tuition. Handouts with supporting notes are supplied to take away with you at the end of the day. Workshops run from 10am-4pm with lunch and refreshments included in the cost.
Art club demonstrations available on request.
