Landscapes for wildlife artists

Held by Toni Watts

The point of this session is not to turn you into an expert landscape painter, but to give you the ability to paint some common wildlife habitats. We will start by painting an expanse of grass – the same techniques apply to an English field or the African bush. After this you will learn how to paint believable sand, rocks, ice and snow. Finally, we will look briefly at techniques for painting a still body of water (anything from a puddle to a lake!), and a calm sea. We will discuss simple reflections, where they fall, and their colour.
