Before tackling the main subjects, Jeremy begins by discussing paper selection, how your subject dictates colour choice and how these small but important preparatory decisions help bring your picture to life.
Jeremy then goes on to explain how you can create amazing cloudy skies using two different techniques – painting a blue background with white clouds on top, then the reverse of a white background with a blue sky layer.
He also demonstrates the benefits of under-painting, beginning with a rough layout and then adding an alcohol fixative, allowing for multiple layers of pastel on top.
Once these practice techniques have been covered, Jeremy focuses on the main project, bringing to life the vibrant and breathtaking Northern Lights through his easy to follow step-by-step process, featuring lots of useful hints and tips along the way.
