Anita Trappitt has always loved to draw and paint and since 1991 has concentrated mostly on the challenge of Watercolours. Recently IN 2008 she was asked to appear on the television program ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRY on BBC 2. She gave the couple a watercolour lesson in her garden,as the couple appearing on the program wish to take up watercolour painting when they move to the area. The painting she demonstrated is in her wildlife gallery. Also all of her paintings in her Galleries are for sale as Prints, Cards and Notelets as well as original watercolours. If interested in buying please email Anita. She very much likes to paint in watercolours, especially painting flowers, capturing bright sunlight on the flowers and leaves against strong shadows. Also painting landscapes, waterscapes, and still life and sometimes working in pen and ink. She joined Carshalton and Wallington Art Society in Surrey, where she has taken part in many different venues, including exhibitions at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, Europa Gallery, Sutton and St John's Smith Square, London to name but a few. Her Watercolour of "Holiday Memories, Mallorca" was chosen for the Gallery section of the Paint magazine in April 2003.She also won First Prize two years running for the Best Flower Painting in Carshalton and Wallington Art Society. Anita has also held many solo exhibitions, which have been very successful. After moving from Surrey, She is now living in South Wiltshire very close to the Dorset border on the edge of a small village in an area of outstanding beauty, so having plenty of inspiration around her. She taught watercolours as well as running her own Gallery overlooking the famous Gold Hill, Shaftesbury, Dorset for a number of years. Gold Hill became well known for the Hovis boy advert a while ago. At her Gallery, she had an extensive range of prints, cards and notelets, all from her original watercolours of landscapes and flowers, which can still be bought direct from her. You can see her paintings in her studio at her home by making an appointment with her. She very much liked to share her enthusiasm, so continued to hold three watercolour classes for beginners and improvers in her home. She entered The Artist of the Year 2017 and 2018 and won the Award for The Best Professional Artist of Flowers or Gardens 2017 and 2018 two years running.
