Catherine E. Inglis SWA

I am professional artist living in the East Riding of Yorkshire, a beautiful location situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. I specialise in portraiture
as well as a wide variety of other subjects and work predominantly in soft pastels.

My inspiration to art came from my tutor P.K. Jackson of Stanbury, West Yorkshire. Ken was a very enthusiastic tutor, specialising in pastels & oils, and a portrait painter of many memorable public people.

I have my own studio in Skirpenbeck, near York, and tutor Pastel Workshops in various subject.

I was elected to full membership of the Society of Women Artists in 2005 and have regularly exhibited at their annual exhibitions in the Mall Galleries, London. I have won several Awards . Other work has been selected for exhibition in the Westminster Gallery and Kennel Club Gallery, London. Widely exhibited throughout the U.K. as well as several joint and solo exhibitions.

As a P.A. for the SAA I have been delighted to be involved in online Live Workshop Days and Video on Demand tutorials as well as being invited to write various articles for Paint magazine . I am a founder member of East Riding Artists (ERA) and currently President of Driffield Art Club.   Be inspired...
