Leigh Ann Gale

Horsham, West Sussex

Leigh Ann is an award winning professional botanical artist and diploma graduate of the English Gardening School, Chelsea Physic Garden. She has exhibited her paintings worldwide, and several of her works have been acquired for prestigious collections including the Royal Archives and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh, USA, as well as many private collections both in the UK and abroad.

Although now drawing and painting botanical subjects, Leigh Ann pursued a career in the design industry after obtaining a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design. She also holds a Diploma in Technical Illustration.

Leigh Ann is an RHS medallist and contributes work to a number of Florilegiums including the Sydney Florilegium Society in Australia, and the Nymans Florilegium and Leonardslee Gardens Florilegium in Sussex. Additionally she is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and locally to her home in Sussex, the Horsham School of Botanical Artists and Horsham Artists.

Leigh Ann teaches botanical art and illustration for all abilities in Sussex, Surrey and further afield by special request and is highly regarded as an adviser and mentor on the subject. Leigh Ann has written two books for the Crowood Press: "Botanical Illustration - the complete guide" which was published in 2018 and her second book "Colour for Botanical Artists" and Illustrators was published in Autumn 2021.
