Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!

My Art is very connected to my past, the loss I experienced at a very young age, my feelings towards nature, landscape, and the beauty around me. It is very worrying to me to see how the world is changing and how many species of fauna and flora are disappearing.

Through my art I myself try to deal with those changes and emotions they evoke. I do so by recreating the beauty around me, creating a new beautiful gateways for my imagination to walk trough and by painting the memories of the things and people I've lost.

You see, as a small child I was a very much a wild child. Always out in nature alone, or with a bunch of my best friends, walking in the fields, local forests, down the small streams. In love with bird songs, scents and colours of flowers. In love with the atmosphere of the forest after the rain during the hot summer, or the hot dry air waiting for the rain to come. The feelings and memories so strong I can feel it while I'm writing this. Some of the highlights after the summer of course, was foraging for mushrooms with my family, discovering the fungi world and what it has to offer. At a very young age I have lost it all. All my grandparents have passed away, then my family home, all the friends I had, and my beloved landscapes, as my family moved to a totally different part of the country.

Moving away from the landscapes I new like the back of my hand, or from the friends I loved, that were supposed to be for life, and forever, has created a big hole in my heart.

All of those experiences and memories inform the art I create. From very delicate flowers, reminding me of my Grandmother and her favourite Irises, through wild animals looking directly into my soul, to the landscapes I remember or experience anew.

I understand that a loss is never going away, and will be happening again and again. It is through art that I try to make sense of it and somehow deal with it.

Growing up I was also fascinated by English language, stories of Sherlock Holmes, and of course thrilling voyages of James Bond. This childlike curiosity has led me to move to England back when I was 19. Looking for new experiences and adventures I originally moved to Norwich, where I fell in love with quirky streets, beautiful rose gardens, rich culture and diversity. Since then my path has taken me to Birmingham, which has been my home for the last 10 years and counting.

Depending on the need, sometimes using the delicate transparent watercolours or by using rich and vibrant oil paints. In love with the representational art I mainly create work describing landscapes, wildlife, and still life compositions.

Through my art I take myself back in time through my memories, and I also try to record the history of the current state for the generations to come. For that reason I research a lot about art practices and art materials to make sure I create artwork that lasts.

My Art techniques vary from many pieces being done via a direct method of painting, done in one sitting, best in describing the immediacy of the moment, all through to the old masters methods of layering, to show the final result.
