Pam is a professional artist and specialist art tutor based in the UK. With a keen eye for detail and a background in design Pam brings a unique perspective to her artwork. Her graphic style combines striking motifs and patterned elements with a vibrant colour palette. The rich architectural heritage and surrounding landscapes of her home in Derbyshire are a constant source of inspiration and her love of travelling is also reflected in her work. Pam regularly sketches en plein air and enjoys nothing more than sitting outside with her sketchbook, taking in the view and recording what she sees.
Pam is a qualified specialist teacher of art with over 30 years experience. Her teaching career started at high school in the UK where she also became head of department, an examiner for A Level art and a mentor to trainee teachers. More recently she has taught adults and runs a diverse programme of successful and popular art classes and painting holidays.
She has won a number of awards for her artwork and has exhibited her paintings both locally and internationally including at the prestigious Royal Institute exhibition at The Mall Galleries. Pam graduated with a BA Hons in Graphic Design and two awards from the Royal Society of Arts. She started her career as a Graphic Designer at the John Lewis Partnership. Then with an RSA travel bursary she set out on a seven month journey of discovery around India where her love of colour and pattern was indulged and saturated.
