Wardley Arts Group

A group of amateur but enthusiastic artists who enjoy the company of like minded people and who meet every Tuesday between 12 Noon and 3.00pm. at Wardley Community Centre, Ash Drive, Wardley. All levels welcome.We learn from each other with occasional access to tutors and demonstrators.

Formed in January 2008 from local people attending a council scheme named 'Start 50+'. Initialy aimed at the over 50's the scheme ran for 12 months funded by Salford Council. At the end of this 12 month period there was sufficient interest amongst members for a user led group to be formed which would be run by the members themselves for a small weekly subscription. The group started with nine members and with the assistance of grants from various sources is now in its fifth year. Membership is now open to all and there are currently 16 members who attend regularly for three hours each week. There is no joining fee but members are required to keep their weekly subscription up to date regardless of attendance.
