The Art Group meets in The Institute, 79 Main Road, Smalley, DE7 6DS for which the group is responsible for its up-keep and on-going maintenance. We have an annual membership subscription which covers us for insurance purposes and this can be paid in two parts. Although those new to the group are given time to settle in before the subject of subs is mentioned. Membership is open to all, whether complete beginners or experienced painters and the age range of our members covers 18 - 90's. We are a friendly crowd of approximately 20 keen male and female amateurs. Although tuition is only organised on a demand basis (there being sufficient interest to run a group), we have a wide selection of art books in our library from which material can be used for complete beginners. Members of the group can typically offer helpful advice, if desired.
