Our residential painting short breaks cover many different aspects of learning to paint gardens, flowers and the natural landscapes of Devon and Exmoor. We frequently use watercolour or pastel media due to their accessibility, but do not teach a specific style.
Catherine works with each student to increase their familiarity with and knowledge of the art materials and introduce and demystify subjects such as composition, scale and perspective and colour theory, to help them develop the skills to paint with confidence in a style and medium which suits them.
You receive individual tuition from a professional artist and experienced tutor as part of a very small group, normally no more than 6 participants, and we welcome beginners as well as those with more experience. We encourage students to use the studio for painting outside formal sessions- it is available for use all day and evening.
