I'm a professional artist and qualified teacher based in beautiful Bridlington on the East Yorkshire coast.
I grew up near Emsworth on the south coast and have always been inspired by local land and seascapes. I have a particular love for harbours at low tide with all the boating paraphernalia, reflections and mud. I paint with watercolour, often adding gouache, line and wash and collage to produce mixed media work. And I love a marker pen - a throwback to my first career as a product designer. I like to work quickly, combining observation and imagination to create impressionistic responses to the world around me. Images and ideas recorded in m many sketchbooks provide starting points for much of my studio work.
I deliver bespoke workshops and demonstrations for art societies and groups and weekly online paint along classes via Zoom. Please contact me if you would like further information on tuition.
