Giraffes I feel, have quite comical faces, they always look so gentle whilst appearing clumsy too. I named my Giraffe ‘Geri’ after my youngest daughter who is both gentle and clumsy. Giraffes eat for most of the day – up to 45 kg worth of leaves and twigs, I think they possibly store them in their long (hollow) legs. I have, with Geri Giraffe, concentrated on the beautiful expression and ‘heightened’ and ‘brightened’ the colours to great effect. I will also be using a spritz of alcohol to the background to create some textural effects and dynamism.
