Watercolour skies can be a challenge to paint. Timing can be an issue, and you need to know when to stop. However, with careful planning, skies can become achievable and fun. Decide whether you want to work with your paper flat or use gravity to help with the movement of the paint. Skies set the atmosphere for your painting so it is good to have a few different versions that you have practised and feel comfortable painting.
