The hot cross bun has long been used as a symbol the end of Lent, which is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon following the northern spring equinox (also known as Easter!).
Join Anita Pounder, SAA’s In-House Artist as she recreates this delightful delicacy in watercolour. Anita also uses a glaze of Gum Arabic to represent the glaze on the top of the hot cross bun.
Don’t worry, no hot cross buns were wasted in the making of this demo – Anita takes her work very seriously! Yum!
