Brixham Art Society was formed in 1949 to support local artists, some of whom are semi-professional, but most of whom are amateurs hoping to explore and develop their talent in a variety of media.Our members are united by their love of art and their willingness to help each other and share their ideas.We hold monthly demonstrations given by well-known and inspiring regional artists who share with us their techniques and tips to help us develop our skills. Visitors are welcome to attend these meetings for a small fee, currently £2. Members can exhibit in a week-long exhibition held every August in the Scala Hall, Brixham, where a richly diverse display of over a hundred of our paintings in all media are for sale. Everyone is very welcome to join this friendly society, irrespective of age, ability or experience. Annual membership costs £20, or £16 if a member does not wish to exhibit in the annual exhibition.
