Huddersfield Art Society

Huddersfield Art Society

Huddersfield Art Society has been in existence for over 100 years and currently has 73 members. Meetings are held every Saturday afternoon between September and May, as well as three outdoor painting days in the summer. There is also a Portrait Group that meets on Monday evenings and a Life Drawing Group that meets on Thursday afternoons.
At the Saturday meetings there is usually time for two members to do a short presentation of their work before the main event, either a demonstration or workshop. Members use a wide range of mediums to produce work in a huge range of styles in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support.
Members show and sell their work in the Annual Exhibition during September and October in the wonderful setting of Huddersfield Art Gallery, above the Central Library in the town centre.
New members are welcome - interested artists can attend up to three meetings before deciding whether to join for £25 a year. For more information visit the web-site at www.huddartsoc.webeden.co.uk, e-mail huddartsoc@googlemail.com or look on Facebook.
