We are a friendly group of artists based in Irby who aim to encourage art appreciation. We love to exchange ideas and advice by working together in most media and craft forms, from watercolours to acrylic, sculpture to oils, pencil drawings and many more.
Irby Artists? Association was founded in 1976 by a group of Irby residents interested in painting and art. The aims of the Association are to encourage art appreciation and to exchange ideas and advice by working together in most media and craft forms.
Meetings are held in St Chads Hall, Roslin Road, Irby, in the evening of the third Tuesday of each month, (except August) from 19.45 to 21.45. Our monthly meetings are very popular, often with an audience of 60 or more art lovers. A programme of demonstrations in various media, workshops and lectures is arranged for the year which starts in April.
Each year, we hold one day exhibitions in Spring and Autumn. Taking place on Saturdays in May and November, Full members may show and sell their work. In addition, occasional gallery visits and Saturday workshops are organised. Members are kept in touch with regular email newsletters.
A programme of outdoor sketching is arranged for the summer, and in winter we hold indoor work sessions at St Chad?s Hall every Monday afternoon.
Additionally we hold a wonderful annual social in February, with dinner and musical entertainment.
