Bromley Art Society is a friendly group bringing together Artists in Bromley and surrounding areas.
We have a good mix of professional and amateur artists working in a wide range of media: oils, watercolour, acrylics, pastels, pen & ink, print, digital, batik, clay and mosaics amongst others. Although many of our activities were curtailed by COVID we rose to the challenge and continued online and even added some new activities along the way.
Each year the Society stages major public exhibitions in the Bromley area and beyond.
An essential element of the Society’s programme is a series practical demonstrations of various mediums and techniques. These monthly meetings are held at The Daylight Inn, Petts Wood and online on the first Friday of each month.
Several members hold classes and information about these can be found on our website - www.bromleyartsociety.org.uk.
We hold weekly practical untutored Art sessions on Wednesday in two sessions between 10am to 1pm and 1.30 pm to 4.30pm, held in St George's Church Hall, Bickley. Session costs vary depending on attendance. While this group is without a tutor, everyone is very friendly and helpful. We are planning opening these sessions in different locations and days throughout the area.
And finally a new activity that started during lockdown - an informal Friday night Art Matters Session which meets online to share knowledge - e.g. we have discussed Composition and favourite art materials as well as mini Art Exercises which are posted on our website
