The Runnymede Art Society (RAS) was founded in 1965 and currently has around 100 members. We are based at the Hythe Centre, Thorpe Road, Egham, TW20 8DL, where we meet every Wednesday afternoon between 1.30pm - 4.30pm, for painting using any medium. Meetings include demonstrations and workshop tutor groups, on an occasional basis, with still life/portrait drawing on the first Wednesday of each month, and an optional programme of outdoor painting during the summer months. Social activities include a summer and Christmas party. We hold two major exhibitions a year, usually held in the United Church of Egham in Egham High Street. Some of our members will accept commissions. A newsletter is produced in order to keep members updated with information regarding events, news, comment and "committee talk". Additionally, some of our members go regularly to assist the Egham Community Group improve their artistic skills.
Membership: New members will be made very welcome and the first two weeks are free as a 'taster'. If you are interested in the many forms of painting or sketching you will find us a very friendly and helpful society.
