We are The Ted Burnell Community Art Group. Ted Burnell was a professional artist who established the club in the late 1970's. He passed away in 1999 but the club has continued successfully since then.
We are a friendly group of people of all ages and enjoy mixing with each other with a common interest of enjoying their painting.
We meet on a Monday and have both morning and afternoon sessions of 2 hour duration. The sessions continue throughout the year with a summer break and a shorter Christmas period.
Every few weeks we have a guest artist visiting with demonstrations in various mediums and also have DVD sessions showing painting techniques where we try to emulate them.
There is a good stock of art books and magazines and also DVD's that can be hired on a weekly basis for a small fee to read or view at home.
Tea and coffee is provided during the sessions when we have a good social chat.
People paint in a variety of media, the choice is yours. We do not have a resident teacher but there are people available to give help and advice if you wish.
We meet in Caversham close to the River Thames where we can park freely for up to 3 hours.
For further information please e-mail artkatej@talktalk.net or telephone 0118 9693709. You will be able to attend a free session before deciding if you wish to join us.
