Alan Noyes

Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk

Alan has retired from a career as a chartered architect, a profession that has taken him all over the world and he now works as a professional artist from his studio set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. His medium is watercolour using a very wet into wet technique. He derives his inspiration from his local surroundings and from the wide open land and seascapes of East Anglia.
During 2006 he successfully exhibited at Snape Maltings in Suffolk and at the Dockyard Gallery in Bermuda. In 2007 Alan was "Artist in Residence" at the Bermuda Masterworks Foundation and held a successful exhibition following his residency. Alan now exhibits regularly at The Dockyard Gallery Bermuda and in 2009 will be exhibiting with four Bermuda artist to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Bermudas maritime history. He is a founder member of the Stour Group of artists and runs a local watercolour class for beginners and improvers and occassionally conducts workshops with local art groups.
Alans work is held in private collections in the UK the USA and in Bermuda. The Bermuda Masterworks Foundation Permanant Collection contains examples of Alans work.
