My artwork focuses primarily on the human form and aims to explore the complexity of the human condition. I strive to explore different characters and personalities within the figures I paint and to show emotional qualities underrepresented in society. My passion is for finding beauty in its many forms and capturing it so that it may resonate further through my work, inviting people to take a moment to see deeper than the surface.
I enjoy experimenting with different mediums and techniques in order to reflect the energy and soul of my subjects. My most commonly used materials include oil paints and charcoal. I also work in clay and have taken up sculpting alongside my painting and drawing practice.
Until October 2022 I was a self taught, but I recently decided to move to Florence, Italy to begin training in classical portraiture. Here I am able to gain insight into the traditional methods of oil painting and portraiture, which have been passed down over generations.
