Allan is a professional artist and tutor who paints in watercolours covering a wide range of subjects including Scottish landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and nature. Over a decade , he travelled with backpack and sketchbook to India, Nepal, Tibetan Plateau, Australia and New Zealand. He gained lots inspiration to create a series of paintings of his journey to remote and stunning landscapes around the world. He is a self-taught artist, who spent several years learning his craft before rounding of his art education with an Advanced Diploma in Art and Design.

A professional mid-career artist since 2006, he sells his art mainly through his own studio-gallery and has previously exhibited over several decades with art galleries around Scotland and selected for international exhibitions in Madrid, St. Petersburg, New Delhi, Kathmandu and regularly at art fairs in Glasgow, Aberdeen and London. His work can be found in private and corporate collections in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, France, Portugal and Japan.
